INTER-OFFI'~E CORRESPONDENCE " RiJ.ReynoldsTobacco Company Winslon-S;llom, NC 27102 dd:: r January 29, 1981 MR. M. H. CROHN, ~R. MR. C. A. TUCKER SUBJECT: Smoking and Health -- Communications There was a smoking and health presentation given at Tobacco International's Executive Conference in Rio this past week. Out of it came the fact that our Tobacco International .executives feel that we need to find a way to communicate our position on these issues to the wives of key executives in the organization. It is my opinion that we need to do something along these lines here in the Domestic Company as well. On our return from Rio, Ty W_ilson..and I discussed this and he suqgested that the ~WO..of you may want to form a task group along with some people from Tobacco International and we could consider some form of mailing to the wives attaching booklets or pamphlets 60ncerninq the key issues facinq the industry and the position that the tobacco industry__is____t.aking._on_ th~_$9__~. Would you please take this under consideration and let me know how you plan to address this problem. E. A. HORRIGAN, JR. EAH/Iat cc: Mr. S. B. Witt, III Mr. R. J. Marcotullio
