Abstract was received by us on a confidentlal basis prior
to public release. Therefore, I. request that you treat
it as confidential information.
As you will note with reference to environmental
exposure, tobacco smoke in aircraft does n~ot represent a
~. significant hazard to nonsmoking passengers. However,
• with reference to the passenger's objective reactions to
tobacco smoke, the results of the questionaire indicate
that a majority of the nonsmokers were annoyed by tobacco
smoke. There is reason to believe there is error An the
statistical analysis of the data obtained from the ques-
tionaire. We are having this analyzed by Dr, Kastenbaum
and will report further on his investigation.
