[Regarding MacDonald's Research Proposal]
Abstract
Transmits proposal to Council for Tobacco Research (CTR) from MacDonald for project entitled 'Regional Patterns of Mortality in Houston, 1940-1969'. Indicates study involves analysis of data collected "under earlier [CTR] special project by Dr. William Alban" of associations between "death rates from the five major respiratory diseases and air pollution readings in the various regions of the city". Suggests support as CTR Special Project to get "prompt action" and notes "it might be worthwhile" to fund the first-time proposal from M.D. Anderson (attachment missing).
