I refer to your letter of December 29, 1975 regardln~
the proposal for a CTRBpecial Project, as captioned, for
one year, at a budget of $58,531.
~.. The comments and questions of Dr. Spears which we die-
cussed du~Ing our telephone conversation on January 15, 1976
are set forth In his memorandum to me of January 12,!976
and I would appreciate your responding tO them as we discussed.
I understand that although we would have no commitment
to Dr. Hickey to renew beyond the first year, it is reasor~ble
to contemplate that such a renewal might be sought. Therefore,
the additional cost for computer analyses of data collecte~
during the first year, to whlchAlex Spears refers, might_well
c~e about after this initial yeax of ~tudy.
Please also let me know which0f the other companies,
in addition to RJR, have agreed to participate
Sincerely yours,
