Dear Bill:
As we discussed, Professor Eysenck has been
considering possible research into what happens when people
quit smoking. I am enclosing a brief description written
by Professor Eysenck of a pilot study relating to "alternative
satisfactions sought by smokers who had given up smoking" and
possible relationships to personality. As you know, Professor
Eysenck thinks that the cost of doing the work would be about
~ 6,000. In my view, this could provide some extremely valu-
able information; accordingly, I strongly recommend that this
be approved as a Special Account ~4 project.
With best personal regards.
Yours sincerely,
Ed Jacob
