Telephone Conversation with Dr. Ann Tucker - Inhibition of NNN Binding ~ ' Dr.:,Ann Tucker is an immunotoxicologist who was formerly at MCV and is currently with NIEHS. Ann called to inquire if I was familiar with'the l.~°recent Science paper by Waddell and MarTowelon inhibition by alcohols of ~.' nitrosonornicotiine (NNN) binding. Accord'ing to Ann, Waddell has been ~:°x able to demonstrate complete inhibition of lung tumor formation in t_ mice treated'with NNN and pretreated with anialcohol (? ethanol, ni-butanol .,~ ?d• ~, :'.9lor t-butanol). She said that Waddell has devised a new method of administering1 the alcohol that he believes is patentable.
